OFCDM-based precise time measurement and its performance under Gaussian channel

A novel communication system with anti-jamming and low probability of interception (LPI) based on orthogonal frequency and code division multiplexing (OFCDM) is proposed for precise time measurement. The maximum unambiguous time and the Root-mean-square-error(RMSE) performance of time measurement has opposite relation with the frequency separation in the traditional method. In our proposed scheme, communication and time measurement use different spread code. RMSE performance of time measurement can be improved by exploiting frequency diversity and time diversity without reducing the maximum unambiguous time. Simulation results show that the performance can be improved with the increased time spreading factor and sub-carriers number.
