A report on some tetranychid mites (Acari: Prostigmata) from Yemen

Abstract Ten genera with one new subgenus and 17 species from Yemen are described and illustrated. Thirteen of these species are new: Bryobia tuttlei, B. pseudorubrioculus, Pseudobryobia abbatielloi, Beerella yemenensis, Paraplonobia dactyloni, Neopetrobia hilariae, Eutetranychus pruni, E. ricinus, E. sanaae, E. transverstriatus, Mixonychus neoacaciae, Oligonychus dactyloni, and O. oenotherae. Bryobia (Septobia) bakeri is newly recorded from this country. Four other undetermined species (all females) are described and figured: Eotetranychus sp. ex Hilaria sp., E. sp. ex Solanum elaeagnifolium Cav., Oligonychus sp. ex Convolvulus arvensis L., and O. sp. ex Hilaria sp. Four known species are briefly redescribed and illustrated in order to provide the first comprehensive report of the spider mite fauna of Yemen.
