An empirical resonant frequency prediction of k- and v-band dielectric resonators

This Letter deals with the optimum design of shielded dielectric resonators, with a dielectric constant around 24, for millimeter-wave oscillator stabilization. Extending the Itoh et al. and Kaifez models, an empirical formula is devised that explicitly determines the optimum dielectric resonator dimensions and the shield height for a desired resonant frequency under the maximum achievable unloaded quality factor. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
