UsingOfDistributed AndParallel Computing (DPAC) InTheManufacturing Control

Parallel anddistributed computing infrastructure isincreasingly being embraced inthecontext of manufacturing applications, including real-time scheduling. Thepaper presentthedesignand implementation ofone suchframework thancan workon theInternet, withapplications inautomation (manufacturing). Thearchitecture ofDistributed andPArallel Compuring framework (DPAC)hasthegoal ofharnessing theInternet's vast, growingcomputational capacity forultra-large, coarse-grained parallel applications. DPACideaistobring together diverse, heterogeneous, geographically distributed computing environments inorder toattack large-scale computing problems. Inpaper isdescribe an implementation and present casestudies showing theeffectiveness insolving complex combinatorial optimization problems inthe context ofmanufacturing systems.
