Leitfaden für das Verbinden von Ontologien

Tim Berners Lee's idea of the Semantic Web extends the current state of the World Wide Web by including machine-readable metadata represented by ontologies. Like our current WWW the Semantic Web is decentrally organized meaning that varying knowledge representation ontologies will be created by various groups of people. In this context, to connect the represented informations and create an entire web, these ontologies need to be matched, which either can be achieved by syntactic or semantic matching techniques. These techniques are then followed by merging or mapping the ontologies. This article describes matching ontologies within the environment of the Semantic Web, while specifying and analysing various techniques.
