Cooling control device and cooling control method for an electric vehicle engine

Provided are a cooling controller and a cooling control method for an electric motor vehicle, whereby a reduction of damage can be achieved on a motor without giving a user a feeling of discomfort. A vehicle control element includes: a vehicle stop determination part for determining whether or not the vehicle has stopped; a clutch control member for disengaging the clutch when a stop of the vehicle is determined; a motor control for driving the motor to drive the oil circulating element, after the clutch is disengaged; and a motor magnet temperature estimating element for detecting an induced voltage that is generated by driving the motor, and estimating a magnet temperature of the motor from the detected induced voltage of the motor. The engine control unit sets the driving of the motor on, when the estimated magnet temperature of the engine is higher than a predetermined reference temperature at which the engine must be cooled, and stops the drive of the motor when the magnet temperature of the engine is equal to or less than the predetermined reference temperature is.
