A finite element model for the prediction of droplet vaporization and temperature distributions of axisymmetric unsteady sprays are presented. An Eulerian-Lagrangian method is employed to model the two-phase flow in the axisymmetric sprays. Calculations are performed using the finite element method for the gas phase with Eulerian coordinates and the second order Runge-Kutta scheme for the liquid phase with Lagrangian coordinates. The vaporization phenomena is modeled by Ranz and Marshall formula. Numerical results are compared with finite difference predictions.
