Two Cases of Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome Associated with Talo-Calcaneal Coalition

We experienced two rare cases of tarsal tunnel syndrome associated with talo-calcaneal coalition. Both casas were 12 year-old boys who complained of right foot pain. Family and past medical history were unremarkable with no exposure to trauma. Diagnosis was determined by clinical impression, X-rays, electromyography, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and bone scintigraphy. The bone coalition was excised and post-operatively the patients condition was improved. Both cases needed a long time for diagnosis and therapy, 2 and 12 months respectively. From this, we conclude that there is a tendency to overlook tarsal tunnel syndrome associated with talo-calcaneal coalition.
