Optical compensation of PMD-induced power fading for single sideband subcarrier-multiplexed systems

We experimentally demonstrate a novel technique for compensating the PMD-induced power fading that occurs in single sideband SCM transmission systems. PMD-induced power fading can be understood in the optical domain as caused by the polarization state of the optical carrier being different from that of the SSB.
