A multiobjective design algorithm: application to the design of SISO control systems

Abstract This paper presents the application of a multiobjective design algorithm to the design of Single Input Single Output (SISO) control systems. The criteria by which the performance of the controller is normally judged such as the overshoot, the settling time, the rise time and the maximum controller output are considered explicitly rather than implicitly as is done with almost all existing techniques. The advantages of this new approach are illustrated by the two treated examples.
