Spatial power combining for high-power transmitters

This article surveys recent progress in the development of high-power microwave and millimeter-wave solid-state sources using spatial power-combining techniques. Several promising topologies are discussed, and four technology demonstrations are presented that have emerged from recent research in academia and industry. We also include a brief discussion of potential applications and systems insertion issues.
