Analysis of a fifth-order hyperchaotic circuit

A fifth-order autonomous hyperchaotic circuit is designed by adding a RLC parallel circuit into the L-arm in Chua's circuit. The corresponding mathematical model is thoroughly studied from both theoretical and simulation point of view. And its chaotic dynamics and the distribution characteristic of the spectrum are therefore revealed. The phase portrait, Poincare mapping and Lyapunov exponent spectrum show that as the parameters are varied, the proposed circuit demonstrates periodic, chaotic and hyperchaotic oscillation. The spectrum analysis verifies that the chaotic signals have broad noiselike power spectrum whose bandwidth and primary frequency can be estimated by that of the period-1 limit circle.
