The Need of Social Campaigning in Public Health Policy Decision Making

Social media can be used as a methodology for reducing the knowledge translation gap as a means of reaching wide audiences and influence governments as far as their policy making is concerned. However, its impact on health policy is seldom considered. As part of the EVOTION project, the related platform supports the acquisition of wider policy feedback through the launching of social media campaigns and the collection and analysis of related feedback to identify areas of improvement in the hearing healthcare field. In the present paper, we present the interaction of the Social Media Campaigning Tool and the Decision Support System of the platform and highlight its importance in decision making for such purposes
