Separation of Detachable Words from a Functional Perspective

Detachable words are very special in Chinese vocabulary system,whose constituents show separable feature,and own the dual lexical and syntactic features. This phenomenon can be well explained from the discourse function " introduce discourse participants" of typical nouns,foreground information and background information proposed by functional linguistics. Compared with " ad hoc" regularities advised by formal linguistics,this functional explanation can be closer to the language facts.
