Letter by Heldner et al Regarding Article, "Prehospital Acute Stroke Severity Scale to Predict Large Artery Occlusion: Design and Comparison With Other Scales".

Hastrup et al1 designed and validated an interesting and simple prehospital triage stroke scale named Prehospital Acute Stroke Severity (PASS) scale to identify large vessel occlusion (LVO) in patients with acute ischemic stroke. They compared PASS scale with other published prehospital scales for prediction of LVO and concluded that the PASS scale is simple and promising to predict LVO accurately before admission.1 According to our recent analysis, there is a significant correlation between various clinical scores based on the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score and LVO on arteriography.
