The Global Stabilization of a Two-Input Three-State Polymerization Reactor with Saturated Feedback

We study the saturated state-feedback stabilization of a free-radical polymerization continuous reactor which must operate about an open-loop unstable point. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for preclusion of critical points induced by saturation. The approach is constructive and yields a criteria for process and control designs. Numerical dynamic simulations are used to illustrate and corroborate results.
