Portable device for the transmission of biomedical signals

Remote and long-time recording of physiological data is important for chronic patients. To serve this purpose a portable device was designed to sample and transmit personal physiological data wirelessly (using the CDPD protocol). The PIC1673 one-chip micro-controller was used to implement the hardware of the instrument due to its highly integrated functions, an on-chip 5-channel A/D converter and UART. The programming of the instrument is described in detail. From the preliminary test, we conclude that this device can function correctly.
