Fast analysis of compliant assembly

Abstract The classical assumption of the tolerance study is based on no-part deformation to simplify the geometrical study. In the present paper, it is proposed to set up an original approach to introduce a global part deformation into the tolerance study through numerical estimation of part behavior. The final behavior of the assembly is then determined according to different conditions (free-state and rigid motions, introduction of external loads). The major interest of the method is the quasi-real time estimation of the part deformations. The method is fully integrated into a classical numerical environment for future implementation into software.
