Workstations and the virtual system model

It is noted that users of the future will require access to objects and services that are scattered across large networks and that the workstation can mold these objects and services into complete systems. The author suggests that in order to talk about the role of the workstation in such systems, one must have an idea of how they will be organized. He describes one model for organizing such systems and shows how the workstation might fit in.<<ETX>>
