Marker-making using automatic placement of irregular shapes for the garment industry

Abstract The CORTE system, integrating CAD and production management functions, was developed for use in the Portuguese garment industry. This paper describes the sliding algorithm for interactive placement of irregular shapes used in the GIZ graphic editor and a heuristical approach which uses that algorithm for fully automatic placement.
