A MINLP Model for a Minimizing Fuel Consumption on Natural Gas Pipeline Networks

The problem of minimizing fuel consumption on natural gas pipeline networks is addressed. A mixed-integer nonlinear programming model for a special case of this problem will be presented and discussed. In addition, our computational experience on evaluating an outer approximation with equality relaxation and augmented penalty method is shown. The results, using different networks topologies over different type of compressor units, show how this model can be solved effectively.
