A process for preparing nanozellularer, particulate polymer foams and their use for the production of moldings

A process for preparing nanozellularen particulate polymer foams with cell sizes of 1 micron or less, in which a) dissolving a polymer in a sublimable solvent to form a polymer solution is formed, b) cooling the polymer solution within a maximum of 2 seconds at a temperature below the melting point of the solvent by dropwise addition of the polymer solution in liquid nitrogen to obtain a frozen mixture is formed, and c) the frozen solvent is removed by freeze-drying, whereby a nanozellularer, particulate polymer foam.
