Sugeno-Type Fuzzy Predictor of the MPEG Video Stream

There is growing interest in telecommunication applications using video information, as for example real-time full-motion video or VoD systems. Most of them use MPEG standard for compression of video signal. The MPEG video traffic stream is very bursty, so in many technical problems classical modeling methods fail or are inefficient. In the paper we present an analysis of MPEG video stream and its properties which led to form fuzzy rules. The Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy inference system for prediction of MPEG video traffic is proposed.
