A program has been written for the analysis of two-dimensional structures for the Macintosh personal computer using the Microsoft Basic language. The program takes advantage of the special graphic capabilities of the Mac, including the use of the mouse, menus, and windows. Preliminary steel design can be performed using simplified beam and column design expressions. In the case of regular building frames, there is an option to use the portal method to obtain approximate forces and initial member sizes.
