Efficient Sampling Scheme Based on Length Estimation for Optical Camera Communication

Recently, visible light communication (VLC) has been widely investigated due to the frequency shortage of conventional radio frequency (RF). In this letter, an efficient sampling scheme based on stripe length estimation is proposed and experimentally demonstrated in optical camera communication (OCC) system. The proposed scheme has higher sampling frequency offset (SFO) tolerance than the conventional clock recovery (CR) scheme in the OCC system. The experimental results show that, with the assistance of the proposed scheme, a data rate of 672 bits/frame transmission can be achieved with bit error rate under $3.8\times 10^{-3}$ in the OCC system.
