Coherent Synthesis Technique for Multichannel Millimeter Wave Receiving Signal

A coherent synthesis method is proposed for multichannel receivers with small dimension antenna.The principle of coherent operation is introduced and applied to correlation synthesis receiver on millimeter wave(MMW) communication links.In order to overcome the negative factors due to no-flexibility and high cost about large antenna,the method is presented to realize miniaturization and flexibility.With correlation synthesis between 3 channels,the SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) is improved 4.7dB,corresponding to reducing the antenna diameter 42%.This method is suitable for more channels synthesis,and has reference for design of receiving stations.
