Energy efficient optimised cooperative mobile ad-hoc network

The effects of channel fading can be mitigate by incorporate the cooperative communication by diversity gain through cooperation between relay nodes in wireless mobile ad-hoc networks. In a battery operated mobile nodes the energy is valuable limited resource. In this paper, we studied and compare the energy efficiency for triple hop mobile ad-hoc networks consisting origin node (O), intermediate node 1 (I1), intermediate node 2 (I2) and final node (F) with and without cooperative communication. The closed form expression has been derived for energy consumption has been derived. The simulation results shows that, the energy consumption in cooperative transmission is much better than direct transmission scheme.
