Teaching Intrapreneurship: Cases from Business

Abstract One way to link teaching with research is to provide students with exposure to commercial consultancy (for example as an ‘intern’, a consultant assistant or as a supervised consultant). Contacts with a range of companies have focussed on locating examples of enterprise, innovation and change creation by employees. The aim of this short article is to profile a selection of GEES case studies built around these results to link with ideas of ‘intrapreneurship’ and to demonstrate what skills students can develop through using learning resources. In doing this, ‘real-life’ research and consultancy can be brought into the curriculum. The case studies presented here, and others, are freely available with tutor and student notes on-line for any academic to use.
