Adaptive median filtering algorithm based on effective density of window edge

In order to solve the problem of insufficient window selection and computational complexity of adaptive median filtering algorithm, this article proposes an adaptive median filtering algorithm based on effective density of window edge. Firstly, the algorithm determines the window size according to the effective pixel density at the edge of the window.; After that, taking the median of the effective pixels in the filtering window to reduce the interference of noise pixels and improve the quality of image filtering. The experimental results show that compared with the original adaptive median filtering algorithm, the complexity of the algorithm is significantly reduced, the denoising effect is more ideal, and the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) value is increased by 2.7366 Db on average.
