[Effect of berbamine hydrochloride on experimentally-induced arrhythmias].

Berbamine(BA) was shown to markedly delay the onset of ouabain (gunea pig), aconitine (rats) and CaCl_2 (mice) induced arrythmias, elevate the fibrillogenic threshold in rabbits and to counteract the coronary artery ligationinduced arrythmias in anaesthetized rats. The arrhythmias induced by picrotoxin and aconitine injected into the lateral ventricle of rat was not antagonized. BA was found to delay the onset of aconitine-induced arrhythmias after bilateral vagotomy in rats. No decrease of the isoprenaline-induced elevation of cAMP was observed.
