Simple Linearization Approach for MPC Design for Small PMSM with Field Weakening Performance

Abstract Model predictive control is a modem method which was used in many different applications. One of the applications are electrical machines. Designing a controller for a synchronous drive has shown to be a challenging task. Many papers substitute one or more controllers in the cascade structure. Nevertheless, this approach calculates only the suboptimal trajectory, not the optimal trajectory. This paper presents a linearization approach of nonlinear model predictive controller and its preparation for implementation. Simulation is performed to verify presented ideas and its results are shown and discussed at the end of the paper.
