Synchro-Embedded Intelligent Based Controller Applied to Hybrid Active Power Filter

Development of efficient active Power filter depends on the control algorithm used. This paper explores the effectiveness of a newly developed algorithm. The developed algorithm implements the synchronous detection Algorithm using Embedded environment to generate the required signals to mitigate the harmonics in a rapidly manner to enhance the power quality in a power system. At first Extraction of Reference current is done by the synchronous detection method and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) method using Xilinx System Generator used to generate the better switching signals to Control the Proposed Hybrid Active Power Filter. Results obtained from MATLAB/Simulink simulation and experimentation on a physical hardware set up presented with analysis and validation of the performance of the controller.
