Picture processing: 1972

Abstract Developments in the field of picture processing by computer during 1972 are surveyed, and a bibliography is given that covers much of the literature published during that period, as well as a few items inadvertently omitted from previous surveys. The topics covered include picture compression; image enhancement; matched filtering, edge and curve detection; picture processing implementations; pictorial pattern recognition; picture properties; picture parts and picture description; and picture automata and grammars.
