PARAMETERIZE PRE-COMPENSATOR DESIGN FOR STATIC

Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) is a converter-based FACTS device, which by means of a high-power voltage source inverter inserts a controllable voltage in series with the transmission line system. The resultant system is multivariable with effective interactions among its state variables, Therefore, multivariable control strategies and techniques are expected to considerably improve its performance in simultaneously controlling the flow of power and the dc side voltage. In this paper, the concept of parameterize pre-compensator technique from multivariable theory is employed to design an lwM0 controller for this task. It is shown that the interactions among power flow and DC-link voltage dynamics are reduced considerably by this technique. Finally, the robustness of the proposed MMO controller is investigated by perturbing some important power system parameters and variables around their nominal valuses.
