경충돌 안전장치의 경량화 설계를 위한 기초 연구

The light collision safety device is normally installed behind a coupler and its main function is absorbing kinetic energy to protect from passenger's serious injury. The purpose of this study is reducing over 30% of tube weight while the energy absorption capacity remains same. The light weight design of the expansion tube type light collision safety device by using high strength steel was performed using commercial FE(Finite Element) code(ABAQUS/Explicit). Consequently, the 41 % weight reduction of expansion tube was achieved by using ATOS80(High Strength Steel) than conventional expansion tube.
