28-GHz path-loss measurement and modeling in indoor environments

Channel measurements and path-loss modelling for typical indoor environments at 28-GHz band, in both line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight scenarios, are conducted. An automatic measurement system is designed and used, with multiple combinations of steerable transmit and receive antennas at both azimuth and elevation planes. Based on the measured data, the received signal is combined in plural, in azimuth and elevation plane, at both transmit and receive sides. Therefore the influence caused by the radiation pattern could be offset. Then, the path-loss is modeled as the product of a distance dependent term, and the standard deviation of shadow is also discussed.
