Introduction to Density Modification

In practice it is fairly easy to tell by looking at it a poor map from a good one. The purpose of phase improvement by density modification is to find the nearest ‘good looking’ map to the initial bad map. If the bad map contains enough information, it should be possible to proceed to structure solution.
