Using colour effectively in displays for computer-human interface

Abstract This paper considers the use of colour in computer graphics and displays. How and why is colour used for communicating information? How can the user select and mix colour for particular purposes? What are the new perceptual methods for organizing and manipulating colour? Finally, a list of guidelines is given on how to make the best use of colour in computer graphic displays, considering especially the requirements of the computer-human interface.
