Integrated Visualization Tool for Differentially Expressed Genes and Gene Ontology Analysis

Microarray is a common technique used to identify differentially expressed genes for a target concept. The output is demonstrated in a heatmap, and biologists analyze related terms of gene ontology to identify characteristics of differentially expressed genes. In this paper, we propose an integrated visualization tool for analyzing the heatmap and gene ontology graph. The previous two methods used in microarray analysis were the static and separated techniques. The proposed visualization tool integrates these previous methods, and allows users to interactively manage it. Users can easily find and confirm related terms of gene ontology for given differentially expressed genes. In addition, the proposed tool visualizes connections between genes on the heatmap and the gene ontology graph.
