2-[2-(4-Nitrophenyl)hydrazinylidene]malononitrile

The title compound, C10H8N8, is close to planar (r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane = 0.118 Å). In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds generate R 2 2(12) loops.
