An integrated framework of conceptual modeling for performance improvement of the information systems

The traditional approaches have supported separate streams of conceptual modeling of the functional and non-functional requirements during the information systems development. Therefore, it is proposed the algorithm of the Integrated Framework for Conceptual Modeling (IFCMod) that consists five components for integration of the functional requirements (FRs) and the non-functional requirements (NFRs) in a common conceptual model. In this paper, this theoretical algorithm of the IFCMod, has been developed further on, through the presentation of the details of the components of each algorithm step which are used to create a final product as the requirements document and the integrated conceptual model. This algorithm is also validated in a Higher Education Institution through the Mixed Method Case Study of improvement of the e-Schedule system. The outcomes show that the usage of the IFCMod during the system analysis and design stage decrease the reported problems and requests by users after the system development in comparison with the traditional approaches.
