Evolving fractal movies

Interactive evolution of complex yet aesthetically pleasing images has generally concentrated on the acquisition of single images. In this paper, a method for evolving fractal movies is presented. Here, the interest is not only for each individual frame of the movie to be a fractal but that the progression of frames also have a fractal relationship. This paper defines a method for representing a fractal set of fractals, the Meta-IFS, and uses an interactive evolutionary program to create examples of this mathematical structure. Self-adaptive parameters are used in the evolving individuals to help identify and exploit trends in the interactive evolutionary process dynamically.
