Roll Pass Design for Round Bars

In the paper a general computer approach strategy concerning the roll pass design for round bars is presented. It deals with roughing and finishing sequences optimizing the pass geometry. The results of the calculation, applied to steel bars, show a good agreement with the geometrical data found in the technical literature or pertaining to existing rolling sequences. In the figures (captions at the end), some partial aspects of the sequences are shown. The user friendly aspects of the program can be recommended to help in solving such type of problems.
