An Empirical Study on Improving College Students' Linguistic Abilities through NEIE Learning System Based on CAI

This paper intends to investigate into the effect of New Era Interactive English (NEIE) learning system on improving non-English majors’ listening and speaking abilities and their attitude towards it. Both qualitative and quantitative research methods are used to analyze the results. Statistics show that the NEIE learning system is sure to improve students’ listening and speaking abilities, some limitations are also summarized and implications gained, which are expected to be beneficial to the future reform in College English teaching and learning in China.
