Editorial

This issue marks the tenth volume of the International Journal of Computer Vision. We are pleased to see that the journal has established a reputation as one of the highest quality journals in the area, and that our subscriptions are still growing solidly. In addition to the regular issues, our special issues, both institutional and topical ones, continue to be extremely successful. We will soon have a special issue featuring INRIA. This will be the first special issue to focus on a European institution. Our next topical special issue, on active vision, being edited by Michael Swain of the University of Chicago, has had a tremendous response and promises to be an exciting issue. Other planned specials include qualitative vision, stereo, and other institutional issues. We invite you to send us your ideas and suggestions on how to make the journal a more productive forum for Computer Vision, as well as proposals for future special issues.
