Scalable and multi-service passive optical access infrastructure using variable optical splitters

We present mobile and wired services network on passive optical access infrastructure using variable optical splitters. An optical budget gain of about 2.25 dB is obtained. Variable splitters can be remotely powered through a fiber-optic link.
