PURPOSE: An apparatus for managing a home-network system and a home-network system using the same are provided to simultaneously process video/audio data collected from a camera and a sound device, thereby monitoring and controlling the video/audio data at a remote place. CONSTITUTION: At least one data collecting device(100) assigns part of resources allocated to a video channel to a data channel. A management server(300) receives monitoring data and video data collected by the data collecting device according to a data providing request connected through a network. The management server outputs a control command of a corresponding external device to the data collecting device transmitted from a user computer.
