Application of Adaptive Optics on Fundus Imaging

Diseases of eye and other diseases of the human can be reflected on retina.Imaging of retina helps a lot in early diagnosis and prevention of many diseases.The quality of retinal imaging can not reach the clinical standard because of the refractive aberration.So it is very important that the research on retinal imaging system combines with the aberration corrected adaptive optics system.Adaptive optics for fundus imaging is discussed in this paper.The problems and development of the Adaptive optics system for fundus image are also concerned.Widespread and commercial use of adaptive optics technology in vision science has been limited due to lacks of effective and economical wave-front correctors.Liquid crystal based adaptive optics system can correct the aberration of human eye at real time and improve the image quality.Due to the bright future for adaptive optics in ophthalmic image,it will be come into industry not far away.
