A Complete Comparison of the two Maximum Power Point Tracking Technique (MPPT) for Photovoltaic systems

This paper presents the comparitive analysis of the maximum popwer point tracking techniques. Various maximum power point techniques were developed by the researchers and developers. This system is made by interconnecting the PhotoVoltaic module, DC-DC Boost Converter, Inverters and to the grid. MPPT system is used to produce the maximum power to the utility grid. This paper gives the complete analysis with various advantages and disadvantages of two of the maximum power point tracking techniques which were developed by the developers. The two MPPT techniques which is discussed in this paper are Perturbation & Observation technique and Incremental Conductance technique. Simulink is used to model the Photovoltaic module and thereafter the grid connection with the PV system. Simulation results of both the MPPT techniques shows the maximum power produced. With respect to climatic conditions, both the MPPT techniques have some advantages & disadvantages which is discussed in this paper.
