Adaptive Image Segmentation Using a Genetic Algorithm

In this paper we present an Adaptive approach for image segmentation using genetic algorithm, a natural evolutionary approach for optimisation problems. In addition, method of implementing genetic algorithm has also been reviewed with a summary of research work on Adaptive approach for image segmentation techniques. We have proposed an efficient color image segmentation using Adaptive approach along with genetic algorithm. The advantage of the proposed method lies in its utilisation of prior knowledge of the RGB image to segment the image efficiently.
